ADVANTAGES OF MODERN DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM
IT IS AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM THROUGH WHICH WATER IS SUPPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE PLANTS AND ROOTS OF CROP, NOT TO SOIL, THROUGH A NETWORK OF PIPE SYSTEM.

THE FARMER WILL HAVE TO BEAR APPROXIMATELY 50% OF PRODUCTION COST WHICH MEANS THAT THE SHARE OF FARMER AND PROJECT SUBSIDY NEAR ABOUT 50-50%.
EVERY FARMER CAN APPLY FOR INSTALLATION OF HEIS/DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM THROUGH CONCERNED DEPUTY DIRECTOR OFWM-SIAPEP, ASSISTANT DIRECTORS OR FIELD TEAM. PROJECT OFFICES HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED ON TALUKA / UNION COUNCIL LEVEL.
ANY FARMER WITH A VALID CNIC, VII-TH FARM ATTESTED BY CONCERNED MUKHTIARKAR AND VALID SOURCE OF IRRIGATION WATERE.G CANAL, GROUND OR ANY RE-CHARABLE RESERVOIR IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.
YES, THERE IS A SUBSIDY PROVISION FOR CONSTRUCTION/LINING OF WATER STORAGE TANK UNDER SIAPEP.
FARMER ALREADY HAVING A WST FOR COLLECTION OF REQUIRED VOLUME OF WATER FOR 6-7 DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM WILL BE PREFERRED. IF A FARMER HAS NOT WST ON HIS FARM, HE CAN GET SUBSIDY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF WST.
THE PROJECT SUBSIDY WILL BE 35-40% PER ACRE AND THE FARMER WILL BEAR 60-65% OF COST PER ACRE.

FARMER CAN PAY HIS SHARE IN FORM OF BANK DEMAND DRAFT IN THE NAME OF SUPPLIER AND SERVICE COMPANY FROM WHOM HE PURCHASES MATERIAL. THE DEMAND DRAFT WILL BE SUBMITTED TO CONCERNED DEPUTY DIRECTOR-SIAPEP.
SUPPLIER AND SERVICE COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE TO INSTALL THE COMPLETE DRIP SYSTEM.
PROJECT WILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS WHOLE PROCESS AND WILL MAKE PAYMENT TO SUPPLIER AND SERVICE COMPANY IN INSTALLMENTS UNTIL SYSTEM IS COMPLETELY INSTALLED.
THE FARMER, WHO PAYS HIS SHARE OF INSTALLATION OF DRIP INSTALLATION SYSTEM, WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF WST. RESPONSIBILITY OF CONSTRUCTION WILL LIE UPON FARMER HIMSELF AFTER HE IS ISSUED WORK ORDER BY THE PROJECT.
THE FARMER WILL GET A WORK ORDER AFTER SIGNING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE PROJECT. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AGREEMENT, THE FARMER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO CONSTRUCT WST IN 30-DAYS. SIAPEP CONSULTANTS WILL SUPERVISE THE CONSTRUCTION WORK. 50% OF THE SUBSIDY AMOUNT WILL BE ISSUED TO THE FARMER ON HALF CONSTRUCTION AND THE REST OF SUBSIDY AMOUNT WILL BE ISSUED COMPLETION OF WATER SAVING TANK.
KITCHEN GARDENING IS A DOMESTIC METHOD OF DRIP SYSTEM MEANT “PLANTATION OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES IN COURTYARD OR AVAILABLE SPACE OF HOME” TO MEET NUTRITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE FAMILY AS PER THEIR CHOICE WITHIN LIMITED AVAILABLE RESOURCES AND WITH LESS HARDWORK.
- THE KITCHEN GARDENING IS AN IMPORTANT TOOL TO COMBAT FOOD SHORTAGE AT HOUSE HOLD LEVEL.
- PRODUCING THE FOODSTUFF AT HOUSEHOLD LEVEL WILL SAVE THE AMOUNT.
- WITH LESS INVESTMENT, VEGETABLES OF MORE ECONOMIC VALUE CAN BE PRODUCED.
- THE SURPLUS PRODUCTION CAN BE SOLD IN THE LOCAL VICINITY/MARKET AS AN INCOME GENERATING SOURCE.
- THE FULFILLMENT OF NUTRITIONAL REQUIREMENTS WILL RESULT IN BETTER HEALTH.
- THE LARGE SCALE KITCHEN GARDENING CAN HELP TO BRING DOWN THE COST OF VEGETABLES AT LOCAL LEVEL.
- KITCHEN GARDENING CAN PROVIDE A PLATFORM TO EXPERIMENT THE PRODUCTION OF OFF SEASON VEGETABLES.
THIS IS A TOOL OF DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM CALLED KITCHEN GARDENING KIT AT SMALL LEVEL THROUGH WHICH REQUIRED QUANTITY OF WATER IS PROVIDED TO ROOTS OF VEGETABLES AND FRUITS.

- POOR PEOPLE, WOMEN AND FARMERS WILLINGNESS TO INSTALL AND MAINTAIN THE DRIP IRRIGATION KIT SUCCESSFULLY FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR.
- HAVING PERMANENT SOURCE OF CLEAN /SWEAT WATER FOR PLANTATION.
- EXPERIENCE AND INTEREST IN KITCHEN GARDENING.
- WILLINGNESS TO PARTICIPATE IN TRAININGS RELATED TO KITCHEN GARDENING & AGRONOMIC PRACTICES.
- WILLINGNESS TO PARTICIPATE IN SEASON-LONG TRAININGS UNDER FARMER’S FIELD SCHOOLS OFFERED BY THE PROJECT.
- PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO LANDLESS HAARIS AND WOMAN HOUSE HOLD (WHH) FALLING WITHIN THE AREAS WHERE PROJECT’S OTHER WORKS ARE BEING EXECUTED/PLANNED.
THE SIZE REQUIRED FOR KG-KIT IS 400SQFT (20-FT X 20-FT ) LOT SIZE.
VEGETABLE SEED, FERTILIZER, NUTRIENTS WILL BE PROVIDED TO BENEFICIARIES ALONGWITH FREE KG-KIT.
IN THIS REGARD, THE PROJECT WILL GET ASSISTANCE FROM LOCAL NGOS WHO ARE ALREADY WORKING ON KITCHEN GARDENING IN RELATED AREAS.
